In 1546, with the discovery of the mines in Zacatecas, the foundation of the present city of Zacatecas begins. The influence exerted by the catholic church in the colonization of the New Spain, allowed the construction of magnificent buildings of religious order, that combined to those of civil order, of the city of Zacatecas. During the Revolution, Zacatecas was the center of national attention, when the city was taken by Francisco Villa, in the famous battle as the well-known "Taking of Zacatecas", happened the 23 of June of 1914

The present city of Zacatecas, View in a set is an aged city with "face of quarry and heart of silver", that combines its predominant image of colonial character with the strong accent of the Decimonónica Architecture.

Day 1: After departing the Rio Grande Valley, relax and enjoy a journey into the heart of Mexico. Admire the beauty of Monterrey and Saltillo before arriving in the beautiful colonial city of Zacatecas that evening. Your tour director will point out and explain the Bufa Mountain. Overnight in Zacatecas. Welcome cocktail
Day 2: Leaving early we head for one of the few ruins of it's kind in the more central part of Mexico “La Quemada” (The Burned) while traces of a big fire indicate that its final downfall was violent, perhaps where the name came from.. Due to the distance that exists between The Quemada and the center of Mesoamérica, this archaeological zone has been object of different interpretations on the part of historians and archaeologists who have tried to correlate it with other Hispanic cultures. One has seted out which this place could be the legendary Chicomostoc.
Leaving to Jeréz where we will visit the garden of Rafael Paéz and welcomed by the “The March of Zacatecas” played by a special band. After we will go to the Hinojosa theater, the sanctuary and the beautiful plaza of Jeréz. This town is known for it's beautiful architecture and friendliness as a real county town with a lot of charm. Returning to Zacatecas, free evening. Breakfast.
Day 3: Our first stop will be the monastery, the ex-Convento de Guadalupe, was established by Franciscan monks in the early 18th century. The building now houses the Museo de Guadalupe, one of the Mexico's best collections of colonial art. You will enjoy the upper floor of the monastery with fine carved, painted chairs and the view down into the beautifully decorated 19th century Capilla de Napoles.

El Eden” Mine, once one of Mexico's richest mines, now the train runs visitors deep inside the Cerro del Grillo, the hill in which the mine is located.
Your guide will lead you along floodlit walkways past deep shafts and over subterranean pools. This mine was worked from 1586 until the 1950s.
La Bufa where you will have a superb view of the city and the mountains around. Here is where Pancho Villa won the famous battle of Zacatecas.
At the county club there is an ex-hacienda where they work with silver, there you will be able to see the silversmith work there craftsmanship, you will have some time for shopping.

Ending our day with a great Zacatecas tradition by following the musicians though the streets to the old bullring, after having a “Taquiza” (traditional Mexican dinner) included. Breakfast.

Day 4: After a good breakfast we bid good-bye to this historical colonial city. Our ride back to the valley will again lead us though Saltillo and Monterrey arriving to the Valley late afternoon. Breakfast
