For the second year, we will stay the 2 night downtown in the legendary and historic mining town of Real de Catorce . Join us, as we wind our way through the charming cobblestone road that leads to a tunnel dating back to 1772. This quaint and unique backdrop has been featured in many films, most recently the Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt movie "The Mexican." |
The people here are honest, friendly on its own way and spicy as in most of Mexico. The way they are is rather what we call norteño - northern people- being its frankly ness its main feature of character. There are a good number of people living here whose origins are other towns or states and even a small community of people of different

Most people lives from trading goods and services to tourism, goats-excellent milk and cheeses, arts and crafts and some agriculture. Day 1: Leave the Valley early, you will soon be passing through the third largest city, Monterrey. Your drive will take you through mountains, by apple orchards and of course lots of different kinds of cactus as you reach the road taking us to Real de Catorce. Mystery and magic surround one of the most visited places in the State of San Luis Potosi. From the moment one ascends through the Sierra, the spectacle, with its extraordinary views over the valley, are of great beauty. Night in Real de Catorce. |
Day 2: Learn the story of the “Catorce” 14 bandits and the once thriving city of
20,000 people, the gold mine that gave out, and the descendants of those who chose to stay in this ghost town repetitive. After an exploring day we will relax at the hotel in Real de Catorce for a night of sweet dreams. Optional horse-back riding to other ruins.Breakfast

Day 3: After breakfast, we depart for the Valley. After lunch in Monterrey we continue to the Valley, arriving late afternoon.
