Included Your tour guide is Helen Myers a Texan Historian Roma, Miguel Aleman, Mier, Camargo come back through Reynosa. This is a great tour to see some of the first structures and learn more about the Rio Grande Valley on both sides. Our first stop will be the City of Roma founded by Corrales de Saenz in the mid 1760’s. Leaving Roma we cross the border to Mier founded in the mid 1750’s where the battle of Mier took place killing some 16 Texans & 36 Mexicans before Commander William Fisher surrendered to General Ampudia Dec. 26th 1842.

| King Ranch $65 Founded in 1852 by Richard King. Once it was the world’s largest ranch. We will do the loop at the Ranch, the leather shop, John E. Conner Museum at Texas A&M Kingsville. Your guide will explain the history and the modern day workings of the ranch. Watch for the auction arena, the horse cemetery, and the Colony - home of the Kinenos or King's men. Historic buildings you will pass include Mrs. King's carriage house, the Commissary with its lookout tower, and the grand home built in 1912 by Captain King's widow, Henrietta.
